Sibling Policy
HAYWARD PARENT NURSERY SCHOOL is set up to meet the needs of preschoolers ages 2 years 9 months to over 5 years. The school also wishes to support those families with younger siblings. The policy below ensures the SAFETY and WELFARE of both the younger siblings and the enrolled children.
If the working parent is able to perform all assigned duties, babies who need to be with their mothers are welcomed until they become mobile. Mobile infants and toddlers are NOT SAFE in the preschool environment and need to be left with a caregiver. If a working parent is unable to find care, and all other parents have been contacted to see if they can substitute that day, the director has the discretion to include the sibling or exclude the parent and sibling.
ALL SIBLINGS ARE WELCOME WITH THEIR PARENT WHEN THAT PARENT IS NOT A WORKING PARENT& THE SIBLING IS CLOSELY SUPERVISED BY THEIR PARENT
Our manipulatives are smaller, to challenge fine motor development as well as visual eye hand coordination. This creates a grave risk for the oral toddler.
Many families find it enjoyable to participate in a child care exchange. This arrangement is to be made between individual members. The school has no responsibilities for arrangements between families. The school strongly supports the individual time that a parent can devote to the enrolled preschooler. This is valuable time to develop an intimate bond before they go off to elementary school.
